First and foremost, I’m a local church pastor. My church isn’t big, but it isn’t small. It’s a typical community church, drawing most of its people from the neighborhoods surrounding the church. All that to say, when I preach I’m preaching to a particular group of people in a particular context. I’m not writing my sermons thinking about the person who is living in the next city over, or even in the next state. This is how I believe preaching best incarnates the gospel. Feel free to listen. There’s no doubt you’ll hear the good news of Jesus and thoughts on the Bible. But also know there might be references to cities, happenings, or situations that you may not fully relate to because the sermons are meant for a particular people.
